DRESSING THE PART

You never get a second chance to make a good first impression.  The first thing your interviewer will see is how you present yourself visually. Even after you've gotten the job, you want to project an air of professionalism every day, and you want to dress according to the company atmosphere.  

Tips for Professional Dress

No matter which career path you take, professionalism includes dressing the part. Every job has a professional look that fits the duties of the job. Below you will find some general tips that will apply for most situations.

DOs

DON'Ts

  • Tuck your shirt tail in.
  • Wear clean clothes.
  • Wear a minimum amount of jewelry.
  • Cover tattoos.
  • Wear conservative clothes.
  • Wear a conservative hairstyle. 
  • Wear sneakers.
  • Be flashy.
  • Wear your hair as long as you want.
  • Wear revealing clothes like halter tops, tank tops, and shorts.
  • Wear a lot of perfume or cologne.
  • Wear a lot of heavy makeup.
