Whether you are interested in a career in the construction industry or looking to make your construction company more competitive, the Council and its workforce partners have a solution - The Greater Peninsula Construction Workforce Partnership.

A cooperative effort between construction executives, New Horizons Regional Education Centers, Thomas Nelson Community College, Peninsula K-12 partners and the Council, the Construction Workforce Partnership work to design recruitment, retention and training solutions to develop and retain skilled and capable human resources that can advance the industry to a robust and profitable future.

Hard Hat Camp

A two-day program for high school counselors exploring construction industry careers

A program of the Peninsula Council for Workforce Development, in partnership with Thomas Nelson Community College, New Horizons Regional Education Centers, Greater Peninsula Career Pathways Consortium and the Associated General Contractors, the Peninsula Hard Hat Camp is a two-day summer program for high school counselors exploring education and career opportunities available for students.

Participants share ideas through open discussions and team-building activities. Local construction industry experts and area educators present on the available education programs and jobs available - from labor based to technology focused. Day two consists of an onsite tour of a construction project in progress and a look at the internal operations of a large construction firm.
